Ozomatli with Y La Orkesta at The Rialto

Apr 10 2009 7:00 pm

For those of you who were not able to go the the 3 band concert at the Rialto Theater to see Sergio Mendoza Y La Orkesta, here's another opportunity to see them live.  Y La Orkesta will be the opening show for Ozomatli.

7 pm doors open / 8 pm showtime

Aymeé soneando in "Esta Noche Tu Night"

The featured artist in "Esta Noche Tu Night" last night was Aymeé, a timba/salsa singer who has tremendous Sabor.  Check out her CD, "Corazón Sonero":

La Mega Se Pega

This is a video from an Emmy-award winning commercial which is shown in a super cool television station, MegaTV (channel 405 on Comcast).  I highly recommend this channel to all latin music enthusiasts.  The host of the show is Alexis Valdés.  He is one of the best Cuban actors and played an important character in "Salsa",  one of the most authentic French movies about salsa music and dance.

Y La Orkesta @ The Rialto Theater

This was a great concert by one of Tucson's newest bands.   Y La Orkesta is directed by Sergio Mendoza.  Great to see and hear Perez Prado's Mambo being revived here in Tucson.
